Hi.

 

I am trying to get outgoing email working on Spark (incoming is working fine) but can't log on to the outgoing server. I have had a hunt around Spark's website but nothing fits my case.

 

I have a website hosted elsewhere and so my email address is name@domain.co.nz, and since nothing has changed  on the incoming server it still works.

 

I have changed the outgoing server to send.xtra.co.nz, 465, SSl, leave a copy on the server, but Outlook still wants a Username & PW. Is this something that needs to be supplied by Spark?

Is your email actually hosted elsewehere. If so , use their smtp

Or is your email hosted with spark. If so , what hosting service did you sign up for
Telecom business email is not the same as spark email
And Spark is changing some email systems, might be part of it ?

hi gary,

 

 

 

Sounds like you are using a third party email provider?

 

 

 

The most ideal setup here, is to use your providers outgoing SSL settings (which will not be filtered).

 

 

 

If you must use sparks outgoing servers, you will need to get in contact with the Helpdesk to request third party verification.

 

This will allow you to use a xtra account as an outgoing account on the spark send server for your business email.

this is the most ideal setup since you aren't reliant on spark's servers.

 

Cuts down trouble shooting should an issue arise :)
