I have been enjoying 28 - 30 down 6 - 7 up connection but suddenly over night I have had a HUGE decrease. Now a small drop in speed isn't so bad but 16 down?

The one thing i have noticed is downstream noise DB gone from around 5.8 -6 to 12.7

Is there a problem my end suddenly or sparks end? I have always had a good 28 connection max been 31

I don't have a master filter as I am unable to afford this at this present time.

maybe someone from Spark could have a look?

Don't know what to do.

hi weetbix43,

based off the drops yours seeing (both in speed and SNR) i'd suspect a fault has occurred here.

Looking at your attainable vs current, looks like the DSLAM is allocating 6/9dB and your modem is pulling back (likely due to unstable connection).

i'd recommend a quick chat with the broadband team.

Alternatively, i'm happy to look into it in my free time.

DM me your landline number and contact details.

Clothed connection with no master filter is frequently asking for trouble - any other device on the line, including unused jackpoints can have a hugely detrimental effect - and yes, a failure can happen suddenly!

If you ask nicely, @hio77 might take a look for you though...

Any unused telephone jack points in the house isolate these from the other telephone jack points back to the master telephone jack point
