Thinking of going for Sparks unlimited mobile plan, with the hot-spot extra, as who doesn't tether from time to time! only concern is, can I monitor the amount of data used by this tether add on? I ask as I do not wish to be caught short whilst out and about.

How do they work out what's hot-spot data and what's not?

Maybe by the packet's TTL value?

If they're using the same hotspot detector as the Skinny Data Binge, then it doesn't work very well :P

@corksta I don’t think that is what the OP is referring to, correct me if I’m wrong but is that image not of the 1gb of wifi hotspot data?

Maybe I am wrong, have to say its ambiguous as though, trying to understand exactly what that means, I didn’t realise there is a 1gb tethering add on also.

That’s a screenshot of the app on my phone. I subscribe to the 1GB/month hotspot option, just haven’t used anything this month.
