hio77: Right ok. I get what your saying now.
@allan @saenglish please dm me account numbers so I've got examples. From here I'll speak to folks to see if it can't be done in a more customer logically expected approch.

Hi everyone I have had a response from spark. they are basically talking about moving the aniversary date of the bonus data to be in front of the rollover data as in the proposal that I stated above, unfortunately they are going to move it to today, which will still leave 4 days where the wrong data is being used.
@rugrat yes that is correct, 10 days to use the bonus data, but more importantly on a small portion of my rollover data left to roll over
@hio77 I will do that now.
Thanks for the examples guys.
I can absolutely see the issue exactly as described.
Can't promise anything but i do agree it doesn't seem to make much sense. I'll speak with the right people on this one over the coming days.

I feel they've explained this well. They're not going to change something for one user.
Ahh but if I don't ask, or tell others to motivate them as well and we all ask of course nothing will change. In this case I feel I will at least get spark to kludge something together for me now, and if enough ask for it to be fixed to work how we expect then they may even fix the problem properly :-)

same as what Allan said, appreciate the followup, the more input into this the merrier :-)
They've given you free data, and you want it different way. Your choices are to accept it or move providers, Skinny might suit you better.

I disagree @timmmay. I want it a way that is only logical. First step is always to question, then when that hits any sort of wall find the right person to question and ask again.
I have so far only heard helpful stuff from spark. They have emailed me and have made statements about moving the aniversary date of the bonus data so that it is in front of the rollover data date. This is a kludge but I would be happy with it, as it solves my problem.
I felt I was always going to get some success, so the only reason I posted here was to inform other spark users that their bonus data may not be working as they thought. I certainly wasn't looking for advice on better providers at this stage. :-)

but he can only use the bonus data for 10 days, and his normal data the rest of the time, and some people might only get to use their bonus data for 1 day if the timing is really wrong, personally I feel bonus data should go first before normal data, why else would you have bonus data for, and I think most people would agree with that. Spark needs to be careful about miss leading people if you can not use your bonus data, the fair trading act does have thing to say about miss leading people, and to me bonus data should be used first, not some random time during the period.

I was just thinking about this again. And no I don't feel they are giving me free data. I got the bonus data after contacting spark and pointing out that their plan was not as good as their competitors, for what I was paying. They agreed and offered me the bonus data to compensate, so that I didn't leave. It is not free data. In 12 months time I expect to have the same conversation and either get something again to compensate or change providers.

Totally agree on the fair trade and miss leading of people. This would be the next line of approach, probably to explain why I am quite rightly going to break any contract I have with them, and depart to another provider, at this stage I feel it might not be going to be needed. Still waiting for action on the response email I got from spark though.
I wouldn't even consider going with an provider that doesn't allow accumulation of ALL the services, that I've paid for, for a reasonable time, when there are others that do. I consider that the 12 months offered by Skinny and 2degrees is reasonable. On Skinny even the free summer bonus data carries over. It's a comfort to know the balance is there as a sort of nest egg if you need it.
Telecom has come to the party. They have given me bonus data that now expires on the same day as my roll over data. I will be able to see in two days time if that is going to work. No come to think of that I will have to wait 10 days to determine if the new bonus data is working, as they have left me with my old bonus data as well, which for the next 10 days will be the block with the closest expiry date.
In the meantime, I was just looking at the type of replies I have had to this post.
1 offering help, thanks for that
1 who on reading this realised that they probably had the same problem, well that was why I posted so happy with that
3 telling me that I should change to another provider
2 telling me that I wouldn't be able to get spark to change their attitude.
Oh and of course 3 telling me to chill out when I showed annoyance at being told to find a better provider. Sorry about that
Linux: It's Spark not Telecom has not been Telecom for many years

Haha, you are right. thanks for adding to the conversation. Probably shows my age more than anything.
