Yes BigPipe are email only, and have usually been reasonably responsive to emails - but certainly all gone pear shaped on this one :(

to be perfectly honest - it may be easier to switch ISPs as BigPipe don't need to be involved in the switch over period as long as your billing at bigpipe can be cancelled.

My switch over form BigPipe to Voyager went through flawless - I just need to finish off the static ipv6 configuration but I think the answer for is here;https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=85&topicid=230720&page_no=1#1972180

slingshot are offering a $69.95 versus voyager's and bigpipe's $79.95 per month, albeit you have to sign up before the end of the month.

I've been with bigpipe a while now, I really liked the email only approach when it worked, but this current episode is VERY FRUSTRATING

Incidentally, Now I've moved over to Voyager - I've noticed the support from Voyager is really responsive and brilliant!

This morning, Voyager made some changes to their ipv6 DNS servers and to the ipv6 reverse zones which means on a correctly configured setup;

http://ipv6-test.com/

gives a 20 out of 20.

The site;

http://test-ipv6.com/

gives a 10 out of 10.

I'm loving the Voyager experience and the ipv6 setup on my Edge Router 6p is running great!

Now if only Chorus could HTFU and get some fibre to my house (Jul-Dec 2019) as at the moment every packet is precious on a long line VDSL connection.

I'm with Bigpipe and was using IPoE (always had been on this connection, been solid). Today I just did the change over to PPoE on my Ubiquiti Edgerouter X SFP and it wasn't quite as straightforward as I had hoped...put the details here for anyone in a similar position.

Tried to change my router over to PPPoE today but it keeps terminating the connection so I had to switch back to IPoE.. :(

Have tried to unplug from the ONT for 15+ minutes but no change,

The mikrotik keeps reporting: 'received PADO with unknown host-uniq, dropping'

I have tried setting this up via 'Quick Set' (which automatically screwed with the firewall) and manually via 'PPP'

Any ideas?

yep, same here I got them to reset their end and it worked instantly ...you will of course need to wait at least 12 hours for them to respond to your email...

edit: I had to do this with both connections I look after

Let us know if you get any speed changes... fastpath is supposed to work on PPPoE but even on my RB3011 I'm seeing a definite slowdown

It shows during sign up, it's a one-off charge of $15. No to the IPoE you can open a ticket, or ask on here to have a static IPV6 as well.

I have two sites
city - Spark Fibre with Skinny 4G failover
beach - Skinny 4G with BigPipe ADSL failover

Will Spark DNS 122.56.237.1 and 210.55.111.1 work on BigPipe connections after the network consolidation allowing me to benefit from the Spark cached content on my BigPipe connection?

Alternatively will BigPipe DNS 203.96.123.1 and 203.96.123.2 work on Skinny 4G Broadband connections after the network consolidation allowing me to benefit from BigPipe cached content on my Skinny 4G connection?

BigPipe ADSL does not like Spark DNS

Skinny 4G Broadband (and Spark Fibre) do not like BigPipe DNS

Once a line has been migrated to the Spark network the Spark DNS will be accessible.

We will pass the Spark DNS in the PPP session but the Bigpipe DNS will also still be accessible for anyone who has hard coded it (which we don't recommend).

Most excellent, thanks @cbrpilot, that will greatly simplify my configuration knowing
city - Spark DNS works for both Spark Fibre with Skinny 4G failover
beach - Spark DNS works for both Skinny 4G with BigPipe ADSL failover

I am swapping out my OpenBSD firewalls for EdgeRouter 6P firewalls and the EdgeRouter 6P firewall seems less flexible and does need common hardcoded DNS to remove the complexity of needing to know whether traffic is currently using the main or failover WAN connection diverting DNS queries as appropriate.

Looking forward to the network consolidation which hopefully means my beach BigPipe ADSL connection will no longer route everything through Auckland and will benefit from the Spark cached content.
