Hey all, I am due to fly out in about 4 hours, and just remembered my spark phone is locked so it won't take the sim card for 2degree, which unlike spark, has roaming where I am heading. Do you think I can give spark a call and get them to give me the code over the phone, or do I have to go to a spark shop (which obviously ain't gonna work).

Thanks!

The Spark unlock page says in-store.

I'm on Vodafone and they want a form filled in with more details and advise that getting the unlock code can take 48 hours.

Not sure if things have changed in the past 11 months but when I was in Havana last December there was no mobile data (only calling & I guess SMS?). The only places to find wifi were a handful of hotels and the occasional public wifi hotspot on the street, where you use access cards with scratch-off codes (and again the only place we found that sold the cards was the hotels).

So I guess what I’m saying is, there’s not much point unlocking your phone..

torin: Havana!

Spark offers roaming in Cuba, pay monthly only and a lot cheaper than 2Degrees....

if you are prepaid you can easily more your mobile to a pay monthly account for the duration of the trip.

Well..2degree apparently offers the globetrotter pack on its prepaid while spark doesn't. Though I can't get my partners 2degree phone to work either. SIGH.

Need it to call/send sms mainly really. Local WiFi is limited, but works fine

Globertrotter on 2degrees is only for use in UK, US, Canada and Ireland according to their website....
