corksta: Hopefully the availability of the cellular versions of Apple Watch follows soon after this goes live.

Yes, I am sure Apple would want to be selling them here. Perhaps Spark will wait on shipments of product before launching.

waikariboy:

i noticed on vodafone iPhone XS you can see two IMEI, one seems to be my simcard and the other one nothing, im guessing this is a eSIM?

Most likely, I guess that's how it connects them both at the same time (I would think the network wouldn't like a single IMEI attached to two ICCID/MSISDN)

Correct, Apple release 2 versions for the iphone xs/xr/max when it comes to sim config. 1 has a sim card and e-sim, the other had 2 sim cards.  The 1 x sim + e-sim are the main release that hit most of the world, the 2 x sim cards were released in china and a couple of other places (Apple said it made the exception for Chinese iPhones because of China’s resistance against eSIMs).

There are 2 camps when it comes to e-sims, some think it's good, others thing its bad as it makes it harder to change sims if you like to swap phones (think of the old telecom days when you had no sim cards and had to talk to the telecom to swap phones over).

I have a dual sim iphone xr which has 2 sim cards in it, it's bloody great as i have my work sim and my personal sim in it :)  (down side is no band 28 on the device, but this has not been much of an issue as I spend 95% of my time in auckland).

Later this year if Vodafone has e-sim support I will get the new R version of the iphone and get my work number on the eSim (vodafone) and my personal on the sim card.  Might make me stay with the phone longer as I do tend to swap sim cards around different phones (i.e. just went to a Dual sim s10+ but now back on the iphone).
