Is there any option to swap the HG659b with this? Number of devices limit raise is appealing...

I'll speak to the products folk about this, at this stage only faults would be replaced out. or new journeys

Obviously we can't say lets replace all the HG659bs...

So, if an HG659B was to become faulty, from, say, coffee spillage or inadvertently being run over by a car, it would be replaced?

By faults we mean replacement under warrantee.  Sorry to say, last I checked that didn't cover submersion adventures, being used as a carjack, disassembly, rapid deceleration tests etc.

Pity though, this new modem looks pretty good. Looking forward to giving it a go!

sticking 400V into the device also does not count as a valid replacement...

Please dont break your 659b in order to force a replacement. I am watching orders pretty closely...

I hope this one will not have the problem I am having with HG659b, which when I p2p downloading using 1 of the LAN port, after a few minutes the wifi will die(both 2.4g and 5g), you can still see the SSID, but no device can connect to it, while the LAN port still working perfectly. Turning off/on the wifi will fix the problem but it will die again if I keep p2p downloading. Spark did send another HG659b but it is the same issue.

Aucklandjafa: Is the wifi performance up there with the Fritzbox?

Real test result, in the office (Very wifi dense). standing next to the modem.

For context, the upload speed took a hit as other users were also testing at the time.

The Wifi is great, It's really impressed me. there are further enhancements down the track in later firmware's etc already on the way too.

As for the question about P2P Traffic, I've rammed it with load tests locally, to the point my RB3011 cries. It did very well, so i can't say i've got concerns.

In all honestly though, if your ramming the modem that hard, your Client is probably misconfigured. You dont need that many connections..

Wrap it in a towel and place in direct sunlight. But on a serious note it's good to hear a better product is available now.

I'd include squashed by a bulldozer, I hate it when that happens, clearly a fault....
