still dubious
my wife doesnt have voicemail, i havent checked mine in probably over a month as i havent had anyone leave me a message..
I don't like mushrooms. Therefore, no one in the whole world likes mushrooms.
See how moronic that sounds...
the irony of the comment after your previous one.
but hey checked the office today not a single one had a voice mail, that now a sample size of about 40 people. but hey
with out anything to back up the claims with they are just baseless. hence the skepticism
Seems Spark have decided there is some interest in this space and have launched an early release of a visual voicemail app (found it by searching for spark voicemail app)
I know a few people that have received invites to try it out, it does look like they have a free trial period but then a subscription based option for unlimited voicemail access.
Will be interesting to see what kind of feedback they get on it.

cbay996: Ok, I hadn't tried to download and activate it. I'm using my phone to post, but what happens from the learn more link?
Someone said you can register interest and get an invite from their web page, not sure where that goes??, anyone know if that seems an option?
As much as voicemail is a bit old school there must still be a fair few business people that would prefer this to calling an ivr and press 1 etc....
Following the learn more link you can register your interest which I have done, pick me pick me I want to try it.

Alright, I've had a chat with the project folk. Full details here
They have said if you are a spark postpaid customer go ahead and register here for Early Access
there you almost certainly will get through (except maybe tane)
Please use the channels they share for feedback.
The functionality is great. It's day and light. I'm someone who carriers 2 phone numbers. One is linked to my test the other is on another provider. The visual voicemail one is simple. Stress free for me and works over wifi!
The other number. Ergh. I dread it. House hunting has been a nightmare....
Now I need to go register mine...

So signed up and I friken love it, it make's it so much easier to visually see any messages that are left and if they need an urgent response.

I checked out the page links that were posted above, it now looks like Spark have made this available for any of their pay monthly mobile customer to download, no waiting to register!!
Have gone in and downloaded and activated - I like it - so much better to be able to get the voicemail sent to you.
Experimented with a few calls and the transcription is generally pretty good - a couple where the odd word wasn't quite right- but all in all a value add to be able to read it, and then listen to the audio on my phone immediately without having to dial in to get the message.
I wonder if they will start to promote it or just leaving it a bit quiet and see if it gets any attention.
Had mine running for a week now and it is a god send for me, no having to ring up to listen to voice messages it is right there, has saved me heaps of time so far.

App seems to work great, it would be awesome to be able to share the voicemails to try and help improve some of the transcribing.
Only downside I have noticed is I just switched devices and appear to have lost the voicemails that were in the app / my custom greeting.

Installed and registered.
I like the fact it charges my itunes account rather than my Spark account!
