Over to you Troy @hio77
There seems to be an external fault on the line causing disconnects when on the phone. There is a clean line in from master filter to DSL Jack-point and phone Jack-points. Alarm completely bypassed now.

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster and even more now as they are upgrading their rural Conklins. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend $195 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, data cabling and general computer support for home and small business.
Rural Broadband RBI installer for Ultimate Broadband and Full Flavour

I've whacked a monitor on it for 24 hours to make sure Fraser didn't break anything ;)

It's honestly looking Exceptionally better though. Copper is testing perfectly, attenuation has basically halved, speed as essentially doubled.

ddDLM hasnt reduced the profile yet, but it's already looking like it could break 18mbit if it gets down there.

Tiny bit of crosstalk showing, not that that's fixable!

bitloading and hlog is near perfect.

as i suspected when i initially replied, it wasnt clear if it was internal or not. could have been iver. Looks like it was indeed internal :)

Might give the port a little kick to see if ddDLM wants to speed up tomorrow for ya, It's at that stage that going VDSL at a strech would probably drop the upstream a tad and get 20-24mbit down.. (Distance isn't your friend of course)

Thanks, that is great to know -- always suspected the internal wiring was poor. Appreciate the checks.

Cheers

Well i was going to jump in there and give things a bump, but looks like your already on the upgrade path :)

test results are crazy clean. surprised ddDLM didnt move the profile back down, but hey, it's the smart Engine not me...

It's probably still waiting out all the disconnections that happened prior to Frasers visit.

ddDLM heard me moaning about it, it made a movement last night down 3dB. still looks very clean :)

and wow, the line was significantly cross-talked clearly, being Vectoring is doing a heck of a job there!

Very impressive improvement!

Mums connection has now been switched to VDSL.

Chorus reports the line speed at a whopping 42mbps -- far higher than I expected, so thanks to coffeebaron and hio77 for their help.   Beats the old 5mbps that used to disconnect when phone calls are received.

Yup, that vectoring is damn impressive.

Upload speed is kinda lackluster, but that's because of distance dropoff + no gains from vectoring.

When you look at the graphs, it's really quite impressive to see the gains. one of the better results i've personally seen.
