Anyone out there seen those ads running on TV at the moment by Orb offerring the BlueAnt bluetooth handsfree kit for cars at $89?   (normally $199 or their abouts).

I saw it several times before deciding to go out of my way to visit their shop to get it.  It turns out that this deal was only if you signed up to a 24-month telecom phone plan.   After going out of my way to go to their store for this, I was quite dissapointed.

I don't consider myself to be the brightest kid on the block, but I do notice most things I see on TV, and I could not recall noticing or hearing that the deal was pertaining to signing up to a plan.

Since then I've seen the TV ad again, and sure enough, lower down on the screen, in thin black lettering, over a dark gray background, was (for a brief couple of seconds) was something about "only on a 24 month plan".

I think that's a tad misleading, and leads to people (me at least) going to their store with the intention of taking up their special deal, only to be asked to sign-up to a telecom plan for 24 months.

Anyone else seen it / experience the same?

It was definitely on the ad.

Something like the Team Builder plan 24 mth contract.

But this is kind of interesting for me - haven't seen an accessory discount as part of a contract before.

I saw the ad and the term details were hardly small or low contrast. No problems with that advert at all, its just you were not expecting an accessory to be subsidized so expected it as cash and carry price.

Sorry, but I also had no problem with the advert. Sign up to a 24 month Industry plan and as a bonus you can pick up the Blue Tooth unit at half price.
Only problem for me is that I'm on a consumer plan so doesn't relate to me.

I would recommend a larger TV. Perhaps a 60" LCD/Plasma? ONLY $24,999 (2 years deferred, 5 years interest free!)

Or they could just make the print larger!!!!

I agree - totally unfair to have stupidly small print like that.

One bitten twice shy after I got done after I couldnt stop my Text NASTY text messages costing me $4.99 a pop!

I saw the ad on my craptastic 20" in the garage and the text was still totally readable.

It was also onscreen for a good length of time.
