Not working in Wellington on Spark broadband

Pay Monthly on brand new Z fold 4 or S21+ so i guess its slowly rolling out

Spark employees: Its not opt in right? it will just get provisioned on all accounts?

Hi there - No opt in is required, however device support is being gradually introduced. https://www.spark.co.nz/help/mobile/understand/wifi-calling/ will be updated as devices are added [Z Fold / S21+ are not yet enabled].

My comments and remarks are not necessarily of my employer.

is iOS treated as one device, or is it model by model?

We expect all iOS 16.x compatible devices to be supported - as per website we expect this to be ~circa end of October.

This is great! Not a moment too soon either haha. It seems like this will automatically happen on Skinny too as device support is added? I have a A52s 5G so am hopeful support for that shouldn't be too far away.

Thanks good good coverage so wifi calling is just a bonus.

More happy that Welly finally has some 5G tinfoil towers

morrisk: Yes. I have the same iOS version that you quote.
I disabled the cellular connection and then called someone as usual. Went through with no problem.

I got this wrong. I had turned off the data. On retesting turning off cellular via airplane mode I cannot make a call over wifi.

So not here yet for me unfortunately but as someone said it won't happen overnight but it will happen!

Out of curiosity, on your S21+ can you see the option to disable VoLTE?

Long story short, on my S21 I cant find the VoLTE toggle, let alone where VoWiFi is 😶‍🌫️ (I would presume they would be next to each other).

Not sure if related to the mobile operator but on my Samsung Fold3 (2degrees) I go to Settings | Connections for Wi-Fi Calling:

And Settings | Connections| Mobile networks for VoLTE:

This is what I see... Clearly VoLTE is functioning...

I have checked through the 'phone' app settings, Sim card manager, I think most of the sub menus in the ' connections' area. Not to be found!

Don't really want to hijack this thread... but bought here in NZ - presale through PBTech when they were 1st released. Up to date - Aug sec patch, phone tells me there isn't anything newer available.  It has swapped carriers during it's life (Spark > VF > Spark I think).

Same here S21FE from spark. The ability to disable VoLTE from the settings menu disappeared a update or two back.

I have to turn VoLTE off at home and it's unusable (3G calls fine) so found another way...

I downloaded an app called Samsung Band Selection and use the "more network settings" option to go to a hidden menu and disable VoLTE.

So according to the website it is just the Samsung A33 5G supported at the moment?

Correct - this will be updated as more devices are added.
