Just switched to Telecom broadband (from Xnet - grrrrr!) and have been very impressed with the service and helpfulness. Everything went fine and they sent me a couple of letters of welcome/explanation and just today a guy rang to ask if everything was OK!

They also went out of their way to help a friend who needed help with an ADSL disconnection. It was a bad line (too far from exchange and old wiring) but they checked and altered the line's profile to get it working again. She also got called back to check.

Not to mention that I can now stream YT ANY time of day or night. Current speed to LA is 4212kbps - excellent.

So, Telecom, take a bow. I am a very happy camper.

Changed from Xnet to Xtra about 1 and a half weeks ago now.

Very happy I did. A much better experience.

Telecom seem to have really taken big strides to improve their customer relations, they answer calls fast, have friendly kiwi staff whim do not speak like robots but instead will chat in a genuine manner with s smile whom take initiative and have a stable, fast, reliable telephony, mobile and IP network. I have had utterly no problems with getting things done with Telecom. I have had two minor mistakes occur which have been owned and quickly sorted with a refund, Kudos!

If the other ISP's and Mobile providers do not really get their customer relations problems sorted, There is some carnage coming.

Your last sentence, paradoxsm, rings true. I think there will be a shakeout, too. There seems to be enough evidence that the smaller operators are struggling with covering their costs with contention issues resulting.

One thing is a certainty, too - if you can't/won't control the p2p fraternity, you will kill off all the other users.
