RedJungle where did you go to do yours??
i got my sim card yesterday for my phone... at st lukes.. and after couple of hours of playing around.. i was convinced that XT was the way to go.. i went back.. and did my number port.. in the afternoon
and early this morning.. its working like its suppose to with my 021 number! :) and all the credit as i had previously!

what is considered a reasonable time for registration of a datacard I have been waiting since Saturday I rung Sunday told there is a delay ummm I knew that. I rung yesterday and was told it would be on by night on the priority list now Tuesday still no service. I can complain The lady where ever she was did not say which night.

So will tomorrow (day 5/6) be the day my XT sim finally gets activated and my number ported from vodafone........a bit depressing to hear some who bought thier sim/phone days after me are allready connected. Or is it becuase they got it from a telecom store not a dealer like me???

Phone use has been restricted as I am close to running out of credit and don't want to topup and then lose it as soon as my number is ported.

Only real pain in the bum problem that I had was the first 31 hours of waiting for my sim card to activate.

But since everything is up and running, there are no complaints from me :D

After my 14 phone calls to 123, and 4 failed porting attempts from CDMA to WCDMA and one for some unknown reason porting from WCDMA back to CDMA I finally have my CDMA number on XT and its running fine

How long should an online order take? On Sunday I ordered a W705a online and asked to move my existing CDMA number across. I'm currently on prepaid but asked for the cheapest post-paid plan so that I can take my new phone to the US.


Shortly after ordering, I received an email asking me to send in two forms of ID so that they could do a credit check and open an account. I sent those details in on Monday and haven't heard a thing since.


Edit: I just checked my online banking and my card was charged for the new phone yesterday. It therefore seems that it's still slowly working through the system :)


Edit Edit: I have a phone and active SIM now.

Well it has taken 7 days and 1 hour to get my number ported over to my new XT sim. After having no luck with 123 or the prepay helpdesk (thanks Karen and nzbmw for trying to help me out) I went back to the store and found they loaded the wrong sim into the system (thas was Wed) back today becuase still not connected. They ring telecom, appears 123 had connected a random number to the sim, but not mine, so got that removed and my number finally ported.

Not very happy with the service, but what can I do.........at least my iphone is working on the XT network now.

Been waiting since 1300 yesterday for my sim to go active and my number to be ported and it was booked in to change on a sunday to "help reduce the load on the system", It took vodafone 5 days to port my telecom number a few months back which was 5 days without a phone and several job applications on the go, I think I'm cursed...

I'm still waiting, spend the majority of yesterday afternoon on the phone to telecom and then in a resellers store after being bounced around the telecom phone system and eventually being put on hold and waiting half an hour and no one picked up. I left the store (same one where I did the original application and bought the sim) ensured in would be sorted by 10am this morning.
When my vodafone porting app took 5 days (and I had to spend hours sorting that out) I figured it was abnormality in the system and was assured it was abnormal. Now I'm beginning to think there is some serious incompetencies in both companies tech departments. Surely there must be procedures in place to process porting applications? Why is it that both my experiences with porting have turned into me having to spend hours of my time chasing up my applications?
It's a real pain having this happen twice, is there anyone I should be contacting that can help sort this out? Now that I've got no credit on my vodafone account (and of course don't want to put any on as the porting application might go thought any time now) I would like to get it sorted ASAP without spending yet another afternoon playing phone tag.
After all that ranting (apologies) what I'm probably most curious about is hearing that other people are having issues, I really hope it's not just me.

well my ph was connected on sunday...finally!!!! we had nothing but a complete nightmare wit my husbands phone...the order was cancel and deleted twice...they courier him a sim card but no phone...in the end he went to a telecom store and it took 3hrs to sort that out cause someone doesnt know how to pull there finger out of there bum....but wat started it off...on saturday they disconnected his phone!!! which i must say is a business phone so we lost over 500 bucks in 3 days!! hubby has sent them a letter regarding this...be intersting to see how that turns out

Its not been a great launch has it? The coverage is worse than the old system...It keeps dropping calls...nice phones but the whole deal should be an improvement.If you cant make a call all you can do is play games.
Why oh why promise and not deliver?
