It will be a readout of some sort of traffic monitor or as pasho suggested, firewall. I'm not so worried about it when I'm not playing though. If it is crap when I am, I will complain. If I have a 800ms ping when downloading something, I couldn't care less....lol.

Pasho: You better stop that. this is an ultimatum.

be quiet about this. noone in telecom should find out about this new method of getting high speed in big time plan.

dont complain about it in here or we will ban you from this forum.

paying $60 on this plan is a lot of money and we expect to get decent speed all the time like we are getting now.

so keep your mouth shut.

like most of us you can also get the high speed if you follow what we do.

and if you complain again we will ban you from this website. period.

we better get high speed all the time otherwise big time is unusuable.

The reason why i was interested was if a few of us did it then we could see if the ping spikes have a trend and whether it is a problem that varies per user or a much bigger problem

This is a misconception. Don't use public DNS servers. I'm not interested in going into the details (again) but it's simply not a good idea.

why not?

whatever they are, they are better than the Xtra dns server.

i go for anything that gives me fast speed.

and dont worry, its not like you gonna get hacked or something.

they are safe.

As I said, I'm not interested in explaining again, but if you want to believe they're good to use, go for it... For everyone else, I'd recommend you do a little research first.

Cheers - N

How have you tested their speed? Do they redirect you to the youtube cache as well?

for the speed, i just use the one i choose and try them by connecting to a website.

if the website loads fast enough for me, then it means its fast. if not, i will choose another one till i get the fastest.

and for the youtube caching, i dont know. i dont use youtube much. i mostly download stuff when i have good speed.

you can try yourself.
