Yep.  Call of Duty 1 aswell.

ping is a very stable 45, but constant packet loss causes major player skipping and disconnects.  Ventrilo/Teamspeak are still unusable.  Xfire seems perfectly fine for some reason.

Forums (including this one) load very slow, even though I am syncronizing at 8128/854 and get a solid 7Mb/s from Telecoms server.

I can't even stream 64k internet radio.

What I'd like to see is some confirmation from Telecom that there is a problem and they're workng on it. It's been over a week and that 'traffic management' bs doesn't fly with me.

The best we can do right now is bring it to their attention.

Just tried a few torrents and they seem to fly! I can max my line out at about 900Kb/s on torrents, but when it comes to talking to someone in the states, I get a ping of 121 thousand and delayed voice to the extent that the people I talk to keep talking 20 seconds after I disconnect! LOL

Beats me.

They confirmed on the phone to me a couple of days ago that there was international connection problems over the past week. I'll be calling them again tomorrow to see how its going.

Is there a Telecom network status page? I couldn't find one the other day.

I got this on the 17th when I asked Telecom to turn interleaving off (I thought it was on).  Perhaps this is the problem?

Thank you for contacting Telecom.

It appears that interleaving on your connection was turned off back on November 2009.

If you are currently experiencing issues with latency, this could be related to a cable cut which occurred off shore on the 10 March. As a result of this, some international traffic is being rerouted which is causing some congestion in places.

This is looking to be fixed within the next couple of days.

If you have any further questions regarding Telecom products and services please visit our web site at

Kind regards,

Mark

Yes, I know where it is.  I've been checking over the last couple of days and it still says 'no alerts'.

Let's hope it's related to the cable being cut..

wouldn't the cable being cut be effecting everybody that belongs to every ISP, since almost every ISP goes through Telecom anyway?

Please remember that those Telecom employees who participate here are doing so of their own accord - Geekzone isn't an official notification platform for Telecom.

Hmm, another call to Telecom and another attempt to just blame it on the user. Supposedly the 2nd level team said it was a router configuration error, even though they also said I was connected at full speed to Telecom. The fact that I'm not exactly an IT lemming or the fact that there are a few of us experiencing problems didnt seem to diminish the fact that the problem is probably at my end.

Now I'm waiting to see if I get a call back this time. My new found love for Telecom is starting to get a little fractured. I can understand that issues happen, but don't just blame the user, and when you promise to call back within 24 hours then call back within 24 hours, even if its just to say that you're still working on it.

I understand that, and certainly don't expect people from TC here to post information particularly if it'll get them into trouble - but so far we've had no 'official' explanation for the problems and no mention of it on the network status page, which is BS.  So far the reports I have read from other users (including users on gp etc) where people are just brushed off as having problems on their end or referring to the traffic management policy.

It's been over a week, guys.

No change today on my end. Ventrilo times out every 10 or so minutes and streaming anything is still impossible.

Yep, still crap here as well. Random dropouts every few minutes connecting to an Australian citrix server. Nice one.
