I still can't figure out their management policy.

Obviously not everyone is going to be using the internet the same way.  Today, I've noticed that http downloads have been completely 'managed' to 1Mbps.

Does anyone have the same experience?

443 is also still severly handicapped.

Yes http traffic has been managed.  An 800% drop in speed.  I am a bit angry, I wonder if Telecom gave good speeds for the first few months just to lure people in then once they have enough people they suddenly start to really "manage" those connections.  Then you have the choice of putting up with slow speeds or paying their big disconnection fee or moving to one of their overpriced unmanaged connections.  It was the first time I have been with telecom for about 8 years and I regret moving back to them now.

I wrote an email earlier to them asking about the changes today to http traffic.  The support person said they were unaware of any changes and suggested I might like to move to one of their other plans.

Really dirty tactics if you ask me.

System: I have noticed a speed drop from 800-900 kbps down to 100 kbps for HTTP downloads, its getting worse for sure

I thought it's just me :( I do hope everything would get to normal. otherwise $60 for 1mbit unlimited is too expensive :(

I just talked to someone at telecom about the changes etc.

They said they took some immediate steps to try and sort out some issues for many users.
They said that they aren't making any more changes to the plan for 1-2 weeks while they do a complete review on the plan etc which is already underway.

So I guess we wait and see what happens.  Hopefully they will strike some sort of balance for everyone and we will see the http speeds lift again...

They've completely ruined it.

It seems as if nothing has improved, but they've killed downloads. What's left?

So, in summary:
They've ruined international traffic.
Nothing else has been fixed.

Does this sound correct to anyone else?

This is BS. I'm thinking international anything is now capped to 100kbs because I could before on Download managers get 1.5mps now I get 60kbs average 100kbs max.

International traffic downloads have been capped to 100 KB/s max, even with a download manager.

Yeah, this has to be a breech of the Fair Trading Act. I will be calling tomorrow to complain. Also will be calling my citizens advice bureau to see where I stand.

Yea heard this myself that they are reviewing the Bigtime plan, Also a mate in Dunedin received a call end of last week from Telecom asking his opinions of the plan and if he was expereincing any issues with it. He has been on Bigtime since Feb 2010 and is having issues with downloading http downloads.
