NZ’S BIGGEST-EVER MOBILE BROADBAND GIVEAWAY STARTS TOMORROW

All Telecom Broadband customers (homes and businesses) are being offered a free prepaid Mobile Broadband T-Stick from December 10th, 2009.

All customers need to do to take advantage of the offer is:

1. bring their recent Telecom bill in-store, and
2. purchase 500MB of prepaid data for $29.95 (once customers start using
their T-Stick, they have until the end of the calendar month before the data expires).

With a T-Stick plugged into a laptop you’re free to surf the web on the bus, at the beach, the airport or the bach, in 97% of the places where Kiwis live and work. That will keep NZers connected this Christmas Holidays

It’s easy to use, just plug the T-Stick into a laptop and start surfing, and with prepaid, customers only top up when they need to. Stocks are limited so will be first in, first served.

***

Limit one MF626 T-Stick per Account, not for resale. Six month expiry for all prepaid credit.

Mobile Broadband Fair Use Policy applies as it is not designed for prolonged intensive data use.

T-Sticks require Windows 2000 software or above.

See telecom.co.nz/mobilebroadband for coverage and full terms and to check computer compatibility.

Very nice offer.. its a pity i'm not with Telecom for my broadband.. but it does make it a nice incentive to join. I do wonder now, will Vodafone offer a similar deal? that would be great too..

So this product for $29.95 instead of $99.00, but will that offer also include SIM card? or should be purchased separately?

The Sims come free and usually already installed in the TSticks(the ones we've ordered at work) also says under reviewed choices:

Prepaid SIM

FREE

Does the person who brings in the account have to be the bill payer? (person's name on the account)

It does say while stocks last, so I guess when they run out of stock marked for this promotion

Good question. Mother-in-law's name is on the account, I apparently have authority on the account, I'm the one who wants the device and who would be going to the store to get it.

Fantastic promo!

It's just a shame that people will now have just over 1/2 a calendar month to use that included 500MB and that it will run out on the 31st December requiring a topup to continute using it over the holidays if you're away. Marketing genius or craziness?

Only if they fire up the T-Stick straight away.

So, get the stick tomorrow, start using it on 1st of January, then you'll get the whole month to use the 500 meg...... not bad.

It's a good deal (really good for tourists and/or the holidays) compared to what else is out there currently.

It's still evil marketing genius though.

Is it fair to call it "prepaid" when it expiries per calendar month.  Mobile voice and text credit doesn't work this way.  I'm sure many people will completely miss the "per calendar month part" and assume it works like prepaid credit for general mobile use.

You need to bring in some form of identification with a copy of your Broadband account. This enables us to give the free TStcik to the right person as there is only one free TSTick per Broadband account.

I just realised my partners name is on the account too :( although I'm designated as the secondary contact

Would a credit card suffice? as I'm getting her a prescription from the doctors tomorrow, thought I'd pop past at the same time :) otherwise....she works 2 minutes away from the Orb store i was going to go to
