I have been using my Iphone on the XT network for some time now and up until recently I have been able to send and receive emails with no problems.

I recently updated my Iphone to 3.1.2 and ever since then I am unable to send emails, yet I am still able to receive.

I have a domain name with Xtra.

I had a similar problem some time ago but after changing the settings to pop3.officemail.co.nz and smpt.officemail.co.nz the problem went away.

The Iphone is a 3G phone.

Message when sending is

Cannot Send mail

The server rejected one of the recipients addresses.  The message has been place in your outbox.

Can anyone help.

Try it over Wifi and then over 3G. Any difference?

It would appear to be a problem with your settings. Go through them all and double check with Xtra's mail settings.

Ah yes, this issue.

What is happening is your ISP only allows it's connections to send mail without authentication (thus how Wifi works). Since 3G is outside that ISP area it won't work the same.

Try adding a username and password for SMTP authentication. If that doesn't work contact your ISP.

Odd how it only started happening after upgrade.
