Hi,
We have setup a GSM gateway here at work and when any of our team rings in from there xt mobile we cant use DTMF tones, if we ring in from anywhere else (Voda Telecom landline, telstra, 2talk ) we can use DTMF tones.

Does anyone know if Telecom are blocking DTMF tones between two XT mobiles??

I have tested 2 Voda sims and it works fine

Thanks for any help

Nick

This is a known issue with the XT network and was discussed a month or two ago on here. Telecom aren't purposely blocking XT<->XT DTMF tones, they just simply don't work due to an issue. Unlike regular PSTN lines DTMF tones are not carried inband (within the audio stream) in mobiles due to the compressd voice codecs.

There is no timeframe for a resolution at this stage but it is known about.
