So, Why, on Big Time is the internet being routed to another provider?
It would appear to be named Compass Communications or iprolink.co.nz

Heres an example tracert to google.com:

I noticed the iprolink.co.nz ip is the same as my gateway in the router,
so why is Telecom routing traffic through compass?

Just old or out of date reverse dns lookup (ip address to domain name) information for the 2nd hop.

Hasn't been updated for years.
