kickzit: stop ripping of customers on XT network would be an awesome start,  if you guys didnt rip me off I would have still been with you,  But no Telecom had to rip me off 1500+ DOLLARS IN ONE MONTH!!!

After days of trying to talk to them about this problem I still had to end up paying UNLESS I reconnected with you, stuff that. 

I am with vodafone now.  At least I have not been ripped off with them for my mobiles.


You don't state how they ripped you off?

Please enlighten us because from what I can see, both Telecom and Vodafone plans are very simlar.



Telecom told me that I can link up 2 mobiles to the one contract, AT NOT ADDITIONAL COST apart fromt he 15.95 amonth plus billing etc.  so I said yeap that is ok I willneed to think about it, I did more reading on there websites, did more reading in all there books talked to different CSR's etc.  So I did decided to get on to it since at that time I was running 2 mobiles.

Then that same month, I got my bill 1500 damn dollars later, I was charged for things that they told me that I wouldnt be charged for, never got my 600 dollars account credit or anything like this.  So trying to talk to them about this for some thing like 2 weeks, It's like talking to a brick wall with Telecom mobile.  I was with them for 4 years before this happened.  They ripped me off 3 times in the years I was with them only twice they did right by recreaditing the amount that they ripped me off by, Third time, even though their CSR's wouldn't recredit it, they saw that they where in the wrong and would only give back a few hundred if I was to rejoin with them.

I said to them, what wait no, cause if I rejoin with you how do I know that Im not going to get ripped off the 4th time, and how can I trust that this wont happen again? 

They couldn't answer this. Another corprate brush off?  (this is all only very small of what happened Im summing it all up, I can tell you everything in details but It would not allow me to)

Nope, not true, Vodafone give more for what you pay then telecome.

I get more of a FAIR deal on my vodafone then I did with telecom.

I honestly don't know what could fix it.

I personally look beyond the appearance and more at the great pricing and coverage.


We wanted a new mobile for my husband as with his job he is constantly dropping it.  As we were ablready with telecom and had NO contract with our existing mobile we were a bit reluctant to go onto a contract.  However to purchase the phone we wanted (builders one which is supposedly unbreakable) we had to go onto a 12mth contract.  After hearing the promises we went ahead well aren't we regretting that decision!  Almost immediately we began having network issues!  We have had the phone a little over 1 mth now and have had 7 network outages!!  And again today we have had another! Calls to the faults department have not solved the issue.  The problem is with them as our end after testing seems fine as does the phone. The cell has 'Limited Service' written on it.  Essentially this means no calling out and people who call in even if the phone is turned on get the answer service!!  So yes the XT service is damaged!  Failing an assurance of compensation reliable service and the option of free cancellations I think the reputation will be forever tarnished!

Limited service means the handset is camping on another carrier IE Vodafone or 2degrees

Limited service implies either something odd the phone is doing or maybe something with the cellphone tower you are connected to. As Johnr said it may be camping on another carrier.

You should definitely report it to Telecom. It doesnt sound like one of the general 'XT problems' of late - if you dont tell them they cant fix it so its a bit unreasonable to beat up Telecom up until you have let them have a go at sorting it out.

I have already mentioned that I have lodged complaints with the faults department.  They in turn told me that they are unsure what the problem is but that it is definitely at their end and not mine nor is it my phone.  And also given that this is not the first problem in such a short time i feel justified in beating them up as you say.  I have a serious health issue and rely heavily on my mobile when out and about so any interruption can be life or death for me.  At the time of posting the fault has still not been rectified.

Now the phone states 'No Service' wtf is going on I have no idea. I just have to hope that the faults department can find the problem and resolve it.

Well then you should be changing provider you do not lose your mobile number these day

Sorry - I didnt read the thread properly - If you have reported it and they cant fix it then change providers. They arent providing you with what you are paying them for.

No, the customer base for XT network will be stunted for the next 4-5 months. Then it will pick up again as long as there is no further mass outages.

Friend just moved to it from 2 degrees today, so they have been on 2 degrees for under a month. Data costs were killing them.
