Finally it is prooved that Telecom NZ can not survive in compititive environment.

TNZ business in Australia APPT is up for sale @ $ 1 billion.. 1st bid is at $650 million by Optus.

It depends if anybody actually wants to buy them. If they can't find a seller then probably some time! :-)

Finding anybody interested may be the problem, you would probably only find Asian carriers interested but would somebody like SingTel/Optus want to spend money in NZ when they can see Telstra couldn't make any progress? They might have the big $$ to throw at a NZ operation but the question would be whether it would make any difference.

TCL are doing some serious cost cutting at the moment obviously in preparation for T3 next year but nobody seems to want to touch Telstra at the moment so even finding buyers could be a mission, when the CEO comes out and says he wouldn't even recomment Telstra shares to his mother you really have to wonder..
