tunafish: If the XT network had a radio controller in the UK, great ad, if it doesn't all it emplies is that 3G networks in the UK are reliable, he should have been by a lake in the South Island of NZ, for gods sake this is where XT was having a problem. Paul should be sucking up to users where most pain was felt, maybe Paul had a job interview to go to in the UK.

The ad was filmed by a lake in the South Island. Your comments are wrong and misleading.

i HATE TELESCUM WITH A VENGANCE, but they are a major supplier of the Multinational I work for.
All the same a fart is always a fart and a rose is always a rose so why try reading so much into a puffery advert?

Telecom are fair to rights to bag when they get it wrong or for the many anti-competitive activities they try but they are still held to account by the rules and law of this country.

The company has an obligation which is enshrined in legislation to make the best return for shareholders, they are not a govt charity.

Get over the paranoia and susspessions stop trying to out guess everyone and realize, in adverts it doesnt matter where it is or what it is, it is how well it is presented and how many people believe it. So if the Xt add had been shoot in Scotland or South Affrica would it have really mattered a dam?

I thought the add well done, Brave, and topical, how ever it lacked any technical detail but that is to be expected when it is aimed at joe blogs or dim wits who have nothing better to do than work out how to try and rip Telecom or find holes in there adds.
Now Joe Public on the other hand probably were entertained and may even in the future consider XT and a supplier for them.
