Hi Paul,

The Apple Store doesn't show which URLs are in use (it's not a browser with a URL path, it's a client app). I think you might need NealR or Amber in Welli on this one.

The path to recreate an unsuccessful event is:

(Connect to an Xtra DSL access product via wifi...)

1/ iPhone - Launch App Store

2/ Go Games, Go Action, Go Angry Birds

3/ Tap, content is presented, tap price $1.29 top RHS, select green Buy Now

4/ You will be asked for your iTunes password. Enter it and click OK

5/ You will be exited out of the iTunes App, the icon for the content says "Waiting..." and that's where it stops. So you can discover content, purchase and initiate a download, but that's where it stops.

Go and connect to the Telecom access product XT, repeat the same steps above (or choose another game), "Waiting.." turns to "Loading.." and the content downloads and the content is available.

Ill Talk to them, we should be able to work out what the URL is. Really only need the host that its on so we can bypass based on that.

Thanks Mauricio ill keep that in mind, and post back with what i find.

Regards

Paul

Slingshot allows you to turn off caching on your slingshot account control panel - will Telecom allow this also?

Currently all bypass actions are done through manual changes.
I don't know if there are any plans to change that, i woudn't know though until it reached the build phase of any such functionality.

Currently we support site bypass and if you are on a static IP we can bypass it, that is about the extend of it though.

If you bypass *.edgesuite.net, that would work.  I wouldn't imagine you'd be caching traffic to your Akamai caches anyway, unless you don't actually have any?

I finally have fibre!  Had to leave the country to get it though.

Hi Kyanar,

I will take a look at that.
You reminded me though that i hadnt pointed out a basic issue.
If you are using DNS other than Telecom's you may have issues with Akamai and Google caches.

When you use the Wifi connection with the iPhone you will be given DNS servers as part of that session ost likely from the modem/router.
If they are not the standard Telecom ones then it would pay to change to them and test again when there are any content issues.

If the app that is purchased is downloaded from the Akamai network then there should be no issues as it wont hit the cache farm.

Yes we have bypassed the Akamai and Google Cache ranges.

Regards

Paul

Thanks Paul for this. I have  been having problems with slow webpages, connection reset issues (on webpages) and I was using opendns DNS servers. As soon as I changed back to the Telecom DNS servers all my problems have gone away. Woo hoo.
