I was reading this article http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=6375 on Telecom's WiFi at Coastlands and was wondering since I live nearby...

Is this a free WiFi or a pay one? If it is a pay one, how do you sign up for it?

Was just looking to see if there were any that I might be able to reach from my house and spotted this one:

Technology Store Noel Leemings Level 2, Westfield Queensgate, Lower Hutt
Wellington
www.noelleeming.co.nz

Quite ironic. If I'm not mistaken that's their Connect store that's full of Vodafone gear. ;p

Hmmm... OK... So it appears to be only useful if you have an Xtra account....

Why is it with Telecom these days, that if you want one service you end up going the whole Telecom shebang... ie. Xtra for net, Telecom for phones and mobile, and now Xtra for wireless, not to mention Sky....

Just get a prepaid card. You don't need a Telecom account to use their hotspots.

Hehe, I know that. It's just that the one in Queensgate I'm sure could be mistaken for a Vodafone store. :p
