thrashcardiom:its easy just simply use Odin and flash voodoo kernel. then download SGS kernel Flasher on the market to flash a different kernel once you have flashed voodoo kernel. don't rely on superoneclick it doesn't always work. i just rooted a friends phone who has the telecom rom 2.3.3.. hes running Darkcore2.9 kernel now with lagfix enabled (ext4) ... ;]
I've searched for Odin, the voodoo kernel and other bits and pieces and there are so many links to different versions of this and other versions of that, that I have no idea which ones to use. Would it be possible for someone to provide links to the correct versions here?
Thanks

Make sure you know what your doing before proceeding into rooting your phone.
Steps:
1. Power off Phone then take off your sd card and sim card Make sure you are on debugging mode on your usb settings. use the 3 button combo (volume down, home button and power button hold them down together.)
2. Open odin then click PDA and browse the Voodoo Kernel you donwloaded above (DO NOT EXTRACT ONCE DOWNLOADED)
3. Make sure to untick re-partion and leave Auto-reboot and F.Reset Time open.
4. click start. then that should flash the kernel in. it should take 7 seconds to flash a kernel then once done it will reboot.
PS: you should have superuser access once you've done everything
