I see this is now on the Samsung NZ web site.

Can anyone from Telecom lurking here tell us if they have any plans to sell this fone before 2012  or are they going to let  Vodafone walk all over them again as they did with the SGS1??

Thankfully this device is quad band 3G - so if you buy one outright from vodafone or anywhere else you can use it on XT with no problems.

I suspect  that if Vodafone get it then they will do an iPhone with it and sell it only on plans leaving only parallel imports for the plebs.  I see that Optus in Ozz have released it on June 01 and Telstra and Vodafone  will follow.

Telecom has just dropped the price of their Galaxy S to $849. A sign of things to come perhaps?

Don't let my wife see that as she just paid $999 for one on Mothersday..  But it is a good sign..  DSE was selling them for about $740 a couple of weeks ago but they're now the same $849
