Just wondering if anyone else is getting messages from 2degrees to telecom coming in as am instead of pm.

I have conversation view on my android and messages coming in get inserted further up the conversation instad of at the bottom where the new messages should be.
Reason being they say they came in at xx:xx am instead of pm when they were sent.

I checked the time, and timezone settings on my, and my mates phone. Both NZ GMT+12

Hi Ray,

We've checked with a few people and we seem to be receiving them fine. Are you able to contact 123 and log the details with them for the teams to investigate further.

Called the 0800-32-32-32 helpdesk number
Guy started a helpdesk ticket and we went through the crap of rebooting the phone etc. then he decided to get some examples logged so i sent 3 messages from my vodafone cell to my android and after he cut me off when he tried to transfer me to the complex or next level up help desk.

So i went looking online, and apparantly its an android issue.

That forum suggests changing the time zone accordingly but that mucked up my outlook calendar which i have synced to my office computer.

So i stumbled across a solution myself
- Open messaging app
- Tap menu > settings
- Untick Use Original Timestamps.

So i cant see when a message was auctually sent, but my phone is on all the time so it will show the recieved time and be able to put the conversation view messages in the correct order at least.

Problem solved.

What phone and ROM? Cyanogenmod 7.1 RC1 has this feature, and originally in an older version of the ROM i had this exact issue. When they added an option for GMT correction, i had that unticked and the issue went away.
I now get correct network timestamps.

Only issue is when someone replies within the same minute, my phone will put their text before the one i sent them
My theory for this is because telecom's network gives a precision of minutes and my phone has a precision of seconds
12:23:10 - I send text
12:23:50 - They reply, but is received as 12:23:00 as no seconds are given.
So 12:23:00 comes before 12:23:10.

Just a theory.
