Hi everyone

Can someone please tell me why my Telecom cellphone does not store text messages when turned off like other cellphones in the family both on telecom and 2 degrees?

Is it because voice mail is not activated or what?

It's a Samsung $100 from Telecom shop, model unknown.

Thanks
Confused

What do you means "does not store text messages when turned off?"

1. Messages are received but when you turn the phone off they disappear or
2. Messages are not received when phone is off, and when you turn it on they are not received

On my work telecom phone if I turn the phone off over night when I turn it on in the morning after a few minutes I get text messages that were sent over night but not delivered to my cellphone because it was off.

This doesn't happen with my personal cellphone.

My thoughts exactly!

Your phone needs to be on for it to receive messages. If it is off, it will take a few seconds or a minute to receive them after turning the phone back on.

This is how all phones work.

I think the OP is saying messages are not being delivered after the phone is switched on. At least thats how I'm reading it.

I did have to re-read it however!

Get the phone sent off for a software update, it was a rare fault with 1 version of the software on the phone that would happen on random occasions.

I'm not saying I expect the phone to pick up messages when its turned off.

I'm saying when I turn it on telecom doesn't deliver the message that were sent to me when the phone was off and are stored on the network.

Make sure you read Michael's suggestion.

I get it now,

Quick suggestion is call the help desk and ask to clear ur sms queue. As it sounds like a sms is stuck in the system and holding up all the other sms queued for delivery.

Also worth noting OP suggestion to check in store if a firmware upgrade is available.

SMS delivery if your phone is off basically tries to resend in different times. Some handsets do not send back that they're back awake sometimes and so the SMSC does not know to deliver the handset. If Michael says it's a fault on that handset probably worth investigating. If you sent a text to yourself it should activate itself again and after sending/receiving that message should push the rest of the messages through.
