A moderator edit caused my signature to appear in a post. I have a signature but I normally post without it only because it is not relevant to the vast majority of my posts.

I posted this without my signature (as usual) and then a few minutes later my signature appeared in the post.

Looking at the edit record it appears to be a moderator edit.

I have had this happen before with some posts so I'm guessing one way or another the moderator edit facility is defaulting to signature on for edits.

I'm also guessing signature state is not saved and restored at the moment generally.

I've had it happen too. I just went in and re-edited it to remove the signature. I suspect the edit page may be using the moderator's default preference for signature display rather than using the current state, just as if your default is to show signatures then when you edit your own post it defaults on again.

I had a moderator move a post that I accidently put in the Off Topic Subscriber forum instead of the non-subscriber forum. I then got an email for each reply which is probably the moderator's default setting. A moderator's settings do appear to carry over if they intervene on your behalf.
