Wasn't a typo as I used the same when I logged back in. If it's isolated to just me no big deal just thought I would mention it in case. Passwords all updated so all is well.

freitasm: The DB backup runs daily, with hourly transaction file backups in between.

Damn. Restore backup from this morning to another separate (temporary) database and copy across password hashes to live again?

Hmmm, it is a little confusing....

You can't put your username in the box next to the password reset text....

Same issue with reset password box not recognising my username. Worked via the registered email address.

I just entered "billgates" and clicked SEND. It worked. You should receive another reset email now (from my action).

How come it works for me?

You know how it's supposed to work, not how users will use it. billgates will be entering his username in the email box.

I see what you mean now by it's working after looking at tommgeeknz screenshot. It is indeed very confusing.

freitasm: Yes, could do that now but people who already have set their passwords would have to do it again...

Surly you can do this at say 4am, and just not reset those passwords for users which have now changed theirs in the last day?

I'm sure that MF doesn't want to be messing around with backups at 4 am :)

Update without a WHERE clause?  Been there done that.

<cough>
BEGIN TRAN

blah

ROLLBACK/COMMIT
<cough />

Do you run Enterprise Edition of SQL Server?  You can take a snapshot of the database before changes and recover from that if all goes brown and smelly.

Yes, I could have done a SQL snapshot. I usually do snapshots of entire VM when doing something major. Being this a simple update in one record where I clicked EXEC before entering the condition...

Argh.

freitasm: Yes, the bar at the bottom is handy for these things.

Don't you mean the bar down the road - for days like this?
