Disabled it as it's not bringing any relevant results for some searches really.

joker97: I found that the search bar gives you "most relevant" order of results ... sometimes that means 10 year old posts/threads come first and what I am after is bumped out of view

very annoying

Getting this old thread back... Yesterday I changed the code in our Search page. One thing I remembered from this old thread is the request for "date" sorting. This option has been available for a while now but mentioning just in case you missed it.

Very nice change.  There is an awful lot of great information on Geekzone and this will help in getting fast and easy access to it.

I still have trouble finding relevant results.  For example searching for this thread:

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=6&topicid=191022

I searched "Surface Pro" with and without the quote marks, and sorted by date, but couldn't see that thread on the first 5 pages of either result set, and most of what it does offer is completely nonsensical. e.g. "Smith's boycotting oscars" thread is offered twice on the first page.

Even added "recall" as an extra keyword didn't seem to help.

I finally found it because I remembered which user started it, so found it through their profile page.

Testing a bit more searching directly on google with [site:geekzone.co.nz "surface pro"] doesn't seem to find it, but [site:geekzone.co.nz "surface pro" recall] does find it.  Slightly confused as to why searching in the custom search on geekzone with the recall keyword doesn't find it, I guess different algorithm or configuration?

And yet if I search for something more meaningul, e.g. "Surface Pro recall" it is there.
