Handle9: A bit of lurking then Vodafone stuffed up my house move. Fortunately it was Paul Brislen to the rescue back then.

Good times...

Where does he work now? He is not TUANZ ceo anymore right?

He's left and is now working for a PR company, Anthem.

I was a lurker years  before and joined in 2012.
I was looking at buying a Panasonic Plasma and ended up here from Google  that was years back!
I love technology and visit this site almost everyday.

It has proven to me to be an excellent forum with very helpful people.
Well some off topic posts are interesting ones,  like cat poo on the lawn,

Thanks Mauricio for creating this.

cheers.

Can't remember why, going on 7+ years ago now.
Enjoyed the mature and non trolling anti-abusive tone of the forums, and the genuine helpfulness.

I try and pay it back/forward.

I suddenly realised after all these years of being a geek, 14+ years of being in IT, I should really sign up to Geekzone... :) It's very insightful, and using the 'live' page means I can see if there's any outages or issues that affect things I look at so I can be 'in the know', which is always helpful in IT.

Googling for anything 'tech' back in the day led me here repeatedly. Lurked for a very long time, can't remember exactly what finally got me to register. Probably wanted to join a discussion that was happening at the time.

I'm pretty sure I first found Geekzone as I'd seen it mentioned in Aardvark's forums.

I then lurked for a good 4 or 5 years before I finally created an account when there thread I really wanted to comment on!

Geeky girl friend sent me here after getting bored with being my personal Help Desk.  Have lurked for quite a few years and recently joined, but have always enjoyed all the very helpful information.

I was a bit scared of the 'geeks' to start with as acronyms seemed to be the order of the day and I had no idea what they meant, but Google was my friend cool
