I've noticed recently that pages are slower to fully load. The page itself loads quickly, but with Chrome until every resource on the page is loaded Chrome doesn't jump to the anchor / latest post. This happens when you click on an email link or a latest post link from the recent posts screen.

For example in this thread the images in Mark's sig to fueely loaded quite slowly, so it took 6-8 seconds before the page loaded and I got to see the recent posts. When I test the server it's fast now, so maybe it was slow DNS resolution. It happens on many threads though, with many different servers. The connection I'm on is generally very fast with good latency, it's fiber.

Anyone else finding the same thing?

I know I can turn sigs off, but I generally like them. Should there be a guideline to avoid using external images in sigs?

Just tried that thread and it took maybe 2-3 seconds before it was at the bottom post from when I clicked. I find that acceptable.

I'm already a subscriber, and I like to have them on. That may be the most practical option though.

Does my signature slow things up ?  I hadn't noticed anything like that, pages just seem to load normally for me about 2 seconds for that last thread.

The two sig images take about 500ms to load (in parallel) on a 100Mbps connection. Ping from here is 211ms - for comparison ping to Geekzone is 10ms.

It doesn't slowdown page loading for me, or I would have already removed it.

Maybe it was just an anomaly, but I could see the "waiting for fueely" thingy in my web browser for 3-5 seconds when I first went to the thread today. It's probably just my connection being strange. The rest of the page loaded quickly, and it loads fast now.
