The only I could see are GZ and One other odd looking website I can't recall the name of. Their pricing appears page views related. Isn't interesting to me personally.

I just cancelled my sub as they plan to start charging from 2nd May. They say they need 2 weeks notice too.

This puzzles me as I never agreed to be any part of a 'paid' subscription. Can you put up a link to the cancellation page?

The thing that really amused me was that the 'free' plan is listed as costing 50 cents due to credit card charges.

Like gzt I don't see anything in the recent email "Webpass.io Paid Plans Available!" that says I'll have to pay now.

I understood that the functionality to pay is working now but I've not been contacted to convert to a paid subscription.

I haven't received an email so I am not sure how they'll be dealing with existing users - perhaps everyone that's not a paying subscriber turns into a 30-day trial from now?

Ifyou never put your credit card number there, why worry?

The trials have just rolled over up until now anyway. In lack of a statement, my feeling it is adding payment processing and proving of that infrastructure rather than an intention to charge all existing users.

gzt and Hammerer are right, we are not requiring anyone to move to a paid plan.  Paid plans right now are available as a way for you to start supporting sites.  For all of you, that would likely mean Geekzone.  We haven't yet posted a list of partnering sites, but we are aware it's something very important to include.

While we're not requiring paid plans yet, if users are willing to start paying before we have a large number of partnering sites, that will make a very convincing argument to help bring additional websites on board.

If any of you have not yet completed the survey, we'd really appreciate your feedback.

Thanks for that note, I will make that clearer.  Since the 'free' plan is free, there's no credit card transaction, so the transaction fee doesn't apply.  The pricing page lists prices with the transaction fee included.

I may have misunderstood the email about paid plans being available but I went to

https://webpass.io/account/subscriptions

to check that it would remain free (50c) and it appeared (to me) that the next month I would be charged. I've just had another look and the "plan for next cycle" (correctly imo) shows "unpaid".

An update has been released now so that the $0.50 transaction fee does not show up for free plans.  Please let me know if you have any issues with the change.
