by the look, slimjet is chrome/chromium with build-in extensions. why not use chrome with all of the "featured" extension in slimjet? and enjoy all updates and playing videos?

I remember in another thread (Geekzone Login Captcha?) you said you had blocked a whole lot of google domains in your hosts file for fear of advertising. Not sure if you ever removed them all, but that could contribute to this too.

The hosts file should be okay though I suppose anything is possible. I will check it when I get around to it. As far as Slimjet goes, I am not just being obstinate. I have tried other browsers, particularly Chrome, and I do not like using them. Any modern browser will do the job, but I am more comfortable with the look and feel of Slimjet. At the moment, I am not aware of any problem with Slimjet, other than the video issue in Geekzone. If other issues emerge, that will be another matter, but right now this one thing is not enough to put me off that browser. I don't know why the window comes up blank, but it only happens with some YouTube videos and I can easily play them by clicking through to YouTube. I will investigate this further over time, because I would like to find out what is causing this behaviour, but it is not a show-stopper for me.
