I am sure I might have mentioned this before but if I use Gmail as my email client on Android, then emails from GZ with hyperlinks in them have the links just come in as text. I can't click the link.

No problem using Typeapp on Android or Chrome on Windows (I use Zoho as my email provider).

Any reason for this? It's the only site (that I experience) that has links broken like this.

Thanks

Not that it helps you but I don't have that issue.

Yes. Since it works for some and not others, it must have something to do with the mail hoster I am using (Zoho). It also happened with I used 1and1.com. I could switch to my Gmail account but that isn't my main email. Guess will just stick with Typeapp.

Is your email address a Gmail one or are you just using the Gmail client?

Perhaps its something your provider is doing for security/spam since geekzone does trigger the sender didnt encrypt the mail warnings in gmail?

It must be your Zoho service but I will test. I use GMail and Huawei Email on Android and don't have this problem.

looks like I am not the only person but the numbers who have this problem is small so it's hard to debug.

It difficult to believe that the mail hosting provider would munge the mail in such a way that certain clients can't recognise html formatted mail from certain senders.

That's got to be purely a client side issue.  Is there a setting somewhere that doesn't automatically render that text as links?  Would be along the lines of a security or trusted sender thing

Unlikely to be a client issue. It fails on both Gmail and Inbox on Android and only on GZ. No other site has broken HTML that I get emails from.

I started the thread linked in one of the posts above.

I gave up in the end. The issue seems to be related to where the emails originate, in this case Geekzone, what email client you're using, native Android, and perhaps your email provider, Xtra in my case.

I never found how to fix it. Geekzone isn't the only site I've had problems with but almost every other site I get emails with links works properly no matter what email client I use.

I ended up using Outlook for Android as my email client but also have the native email client set up to sync my calendar. It's a bit messy having to use two email clients but it works.

This is client side for you. I use Google Inbox and don't have any issues.

Yes, agree client side as not all email clients exhibit this problem. However the problem is also related to something in the way Geekzone handles hyperlinks as I don't experience this issue with other sites.

there is no html to be broken - they're plain text emails
