So, according to sidebar on the home page "Pv6 Dynamic Prefix
Created by ArnoldGoat, last reply by Tinkerisk on 6-Sep-2018 11:03 (3 replies) First reply since reset "

However, as of right now, the last post that I can see is mine from 10:52. Based on a e-mail I received, I believer Tinkerisk had made a post, but deleted it, or I'm just not special enough to see it. Should such things be showing in the side bar? It's not a security issue, but could lead to phantom bumping of threads.

You can edit or delete posts for a few minutes after making them. It's useful if you make a mistake. Why change it?

I think if a post is deleted in a topic, the sidebar on the home page still shows that topic as recently updated, even though the post isn't there. Unless you have blocked tinerisk, in which case you wouldn't see the post (can you block users on these forums?)

I'm not suggesting stopping people deleting (or editing) posts. My query is more about the sidebar showing posts that are deleted. I'm not sure if this is by design or omission.

I noticed this a couple of years ago and if I recall correctly (and that's a big if) then it was in the "too hard basket" at the time.

The post is not really "deleted" as such - it is just hidden from regular users and so the forums will sometimes still show the last post. I've just fixed this by posting.

Yep, I'm here.

Yep, I have a solution for his problem (Link.Local.Address vs. Global.Unicast.Address) as well but too complicated and time consuming for me to explain to him. Maybe somebody else?

Yep, I decided to delete it, esp. the vodafone service part :-)

Nope, I don't feel blocked.

Nope, English isn't my mother tongue. But that's why I'm here. smile

This is something I never put time into fixing. It's a known bug but it is cosmetic only and doesn't affect the forum operation so it's very low priority.
