Can we add misandry along with misogyny to be consistent? Just a thought.

Not sure if serious. If you need to have this spelled out then let me know.

Hopefully I won't get banned :-P
I say this because while I can be a helpful friendly chap, some days I can be a dick as well. Honestly I think most people can be depending on the day / mood / wind direction / etc.
Mind you I'm probably much safer since Mauricio blocked me from posting in the Politics forum lol. Political arguments can definitely bring out the worst in me.
I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup.
MikeAqua:Is that the Red Lady from GOT? What's she got to do with it?

Talkiet:DarthKermit:I'd like to see the rule about not using SMS abbreviations enforced a bit more. Some posters I've noticed use abbreviations like YMMV (which I looked up and it means your mileage may vary). To me, that particular one isn't obvious. Not meaning to pick on that one abbreviation by any means.
like SMS? :-)
This is a geek based community, surely there's got to be an allowance for some abbreviations or acronyms/initialisms? BIOS? DOS? FWIW?
I would personally draw the line at something like "i yeeted da peecee outa winda whn t 5t0pd werkn" but getting rid of community appropriate abbreviations is a slippery slope... What next? Bans for misspellings? incorrect grammar? apostrophe in the wrong place? (Actually, I could support that one :-)
Cheers - N.
ps. Oh, smileys?
Ge0rge: I have a feeling that "yeet" might end up in the Oxford before too long, especially with the upcoming American Boogaloo...
;)
I have a 13yo son who Yeets regularly...I have no idea what he's on about most of the time

@Lias I am the same as you, some days the anxiety and pain gets the better of me and I react when I should not. I am trying to stay away from the keyboard on those days and times. We are all human I guess.
Mea culpa. I can be emotional and quite forceful in my opinions (see recent thread) and I will defend what I believe, but I do try not to take myself too seriously. It is interesting to see different perspectives on issues.
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos
Boss (@freitasm),
Totally agree with the intent of the updated FUG etc ... but if I didn't, I would still need to agree to them to post my concerns. For those who don't agree, can you provide postal address for their signed and stamped letters of protest ?
Or as an alternative .... can the forum software allow posts (like this one) to be flagged as not requiring agreement ?
Cheers
Lee

You could just use the Contact form, surely.

Part serious, part tongue in cheek. Casual misandry is quite prevalent in society, though admittedly mostly harmless.

Yep - and a long time ago I became conscious of ‘don’t drink and post’.
What might seem funny at the time can look quite different in the cold, hard light of day. 🥳
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
Christ, do I want to know what "yeet" means? Probably not.
MikeB4: I had never heard of Wheatens law until now.
