O wise ones,
Is there any chance the broadband and Vodafone/ihug forums could be reorganised, so people's cellphone woes aren't all jumbled up with Vodafone fixed line broadband issues?
Cheers

I thought about this before and I don't think it would help. It's the same for "Telecom/Xtra" and now "TelstraClear / Mobile". People would post in the wrong forums anyway - it happens now with a lot people posting in the Broadband forum even for questons related to a provider we already have a forum for.

In the long run is better to have a single forum too. It makes easier for searching.

Oooh go on, do it!
Yeah some people would post in the wrong forum, but it would still make life easier for most of us.
Anyway how is it easier for searching? There is the "Search Geekzone" option, which wouldn't change, or the other way we look for topics is by manually ploughing through the forums which would easier if they were reorganised.

I agree with Mauricio.  There are too many forums now really, and to add more, just doesn't make sense.

It should be easy to identify what the thread is about (Mobile or Fixed Line) by choosing an appropriate title when the thread is created.

+1,

If the forum rules were followed correctly, there there really wouldn't be any problems. It's just a matter of people taking the time to be considerate, and step up to their responsibility to post correctly.

Simple is it not?

Every single day I move post from "Broadband" to one of the dedicated Telcos/ISPs forums. I even posted something in the Broadband forum to alert people that posting in the correct forum will make it more likely to get a correct answer or a best reply.

Another thing that is really hard to understand is why people write posts with subjects such as "Please help" or "Problem". Why can't people write something a bit longer in the subject that can make life easier for people trying to follow?

I feel your pain!

Maybe it's time to send a mass email just to help everyone brush up on the rules...

just the main ones in largish letter might get the message across ;)
