Date wise the 21st of Feb would be my first choice. 31st would be ok, but I'd be restricting myself to the 1 beer due to training.

Venues, Brew Union if the weather is fine and we can get a table outside, or the Speights Ale house as there is plenty of space there. I don't believe either has happy hour prices on Friday though ๐Ÿ˜‚

Na it's all good - just call it 'carb loading' before your event!

Edit: Also, 31st is good for me

jonathan18:

Friday the 31st sounds good to me; venue-wise, my preference would be for BU again, primarily because the beer selection at the other places is pretty poor, whereas BU has such a wide range that there's something there for everyone...

Speaking of BU - does anyone know when Libre's supposed to open? I recall it was going to have been late 2019, which clearly never happened...

Mystery solved... I had been wondering what was going in that building on George! Funnily enough, when Dhanak folded I was wishing for a nice Mexican joint to replace it.

Looks like it is still somewhat under construction, much like Focal Point. I guess one day it will just be there haha.

Right, sounds like BU is the go-er.

Sorry @maoriboy, unless we have a few that can't make it, also looks like 31st Jan seems to be the popular option. Guess you will have to either switch to light, low carb beers or make it one good one!

@michaelmurfy, that work for you?

31st January, Brew Union... What time?

I will be joining too - Michael mentioned he was planning on coming back to Paraparaumu on same evening, I might do the same and drive back to Wellington - so not a lot of drinks for me.

Good to have you guys along.

I will probably wander over around 4:30pm, since my office is only a 5 min walk away, but if I book a table for 5pm onwards, will that work for everyone?

So far I have:

  • MadEngineer
  • Jonathan18
  • maoriboy
  • chevrolux
  • michaelmurfy
  • Loismustdye
  • freitasm
  • and myself

I'll book for 10 just in case a few turn up on the night, but I imagine they are probably not too fussed about it

Yep, I agree that a 4.30 kick-off is more than appropriate, especially given it's a Friday!

Alrighttttttiiieeeee then, we are booked in for 4:30pm @ BU on the 31st of January. I booked us in for a stand-up table outside, so hopefully we have some nice afternoon sun!

MM and MF can hopefully join us whenever they get there, so we have to make the tab lasts until at least then... muwhahaha

Was really looking forward to tomorrow and meeting some of you but I've spent all day today quite sick. Just in-case I have got something contagious I've decided to quarantine myself so won't be able to make it tomorrow. I know, Murphy's law.

Hopefully everyone has a great time regardless! Will make it to the next one.

Righto, I'll possibly be the first one there so look for a guy with either a bright blue AB's shirt on or a red hoodie - depending on how warm it is outside ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. As per the earlier post by @shinychrome the password is still  "I like big butts and I cannot lie" hahahaha.
