kiwifidget:
I shop quite a bit from there, but just usually go straight to the website via a bookmark bar shortcut.
So if I come here first and then use your MA link, and shop as normal, this works out for you?
That works, thanks - or you can update the bookmark to the link I have here.

@Dynamic:
freitasm: I have now finished with my (previous) employer... I am back full time on Geekzone until I find another position available for me. As above, using any of these resources always help
I hope you give yourself a week or two to relax and recharge with your family before plunging too deep into GZ-related stuff.
Perhaps remind us what sort of positions you are open to considering? I did search TradeMe Jobs for 'BDFL' in case something interesting was listed that I could forward to you, but weirdly there were no results...
Wife is working and daughter at school - so we just missed the school holidays. Might have to plan something for later... Looking for any digital marketing role - here's my LinkedIn profile (welcome to add me too).

Hi folks, here is an update...
It's been a year since I've created this thread - I know it because many of you attended the call and subscribed to Geekzone and yesterday I started seeing some of those subscriptions being renewed.
Again, thanks for your support.
"Sometimes things change and these come with little or no warning. One of these changes is about to fall on me so I need a bit of help from the community at large."
When I wrote these words back in March 2020 I had just been informed that my position was being made redundant. It was also just before the whole world changed due to COVID-19 and we had no idea what was coming up.
Because of COVID-19 the company I worked for asked for a bit more time and kept me on their employment for a few more months - the role was needed after all. But the decision to reduce costs had been made much earlier so it had to go. July 2020 was my last month with them.
Since then I have been searching, talking and applying for jobs but it seems all roles available around here either don't pay nearly as close as my experience would demand, or don't exist at the level I can offer (there's also the alternative that they already have people lined up for some positions so the listings are just a requirement for the process).
Anyway, while I have some time in my hands I decided to add and change features here on Geekzone - some of you might have received the email I sent a couple of weeks ago list some of the work I have been doing - if not, check my blog post here.
So I will renew the same request I made a year ago. The request is simple: if you use an adblocker while visiting Geekzone, please consider whitelisting our site.
If you don't want to, or can't whitelist, please consider a Geekzone subscription - $25/year or $125/lifetime and you can have Geekzone without ads.
Another way to help is by using our affiliate links. They are present in all pages (at the top) and updated ones on my signature. Below are the current ones:

I am happy to renew my subscription, even though I am lifetime. Can I still donate via press patron?

Thanks, I wouldn't want any more than a lifetime subscription though. Yes, you can do it via Press Patron - or use any of the listed affiliate links when browsing around.

I have looked at the affiliate links but these days am unlikely to use any. I much prefer to just keep paying my subscription so $25 headed your way. Thanks for maintaining such a useful and enjoyable site.

Hi Mauricio,
I don't like Paypal, which wants my address even if I pay by credit card so I have donated via Press Patron. Hope that helps.

The new subscription is live now and I will email everyone soon. The only changes are terms and price.
I am retiring the $25/year and $125/lifetime subscriptions. I am introducing the $5/month subscription.
The $25/year subscription was really a token value. I am updating to a $60 value that is paid on a monthly basis - the price of a cup of coffee per month. This also gives subscribers the ability to cancel subscriptions as needed for their reasons but restart sooner if they can - unlike the old yearly one, which would affect revenue for us.
Current subscribers have to wait until their expire date before creating a new subscription.
