I agree that it should be gone - for a whole myriad of reasons (more to do with poor standards compliance and odd rendering in my case)..

But none of that has any bearing on the point that was being argued - It is still supported Microsoft software.

We really don't need to get into "which browser is best".

Yes the main problem with IE6 is all the workarounds for html/css rendering and javascript you have to do as a web developer.  Want to use a 10px margin on nested div, prepare for it to be doubled in size when rendered.. so many many bugs with rendering.

For the user IE6 is just slow at rendering stuff, executing javascript and sometimes a site will look funny but they probably don't know any different and hey it works.

IE7 is listed in windows update as an important update for Windows XP but when I look at browser stats for some of my sites I am amazed and sad all at the same time when I see Windows XP/IE6.  So many unpatched pc's... good times for the people running botnets and spamming the hell out of everyone I guess....

Personally I think this thread should now be locked.

Richgamer you were given an answer from an admin - he said that all he has to do is change a tag on the site's code to let it load in IE 8. From the sounds of things this change would take maybe 5 seconds.

We now appear to be drifting off topic trying to convince richgamer that it's trival that IE8 doesn't quite work right on the site (a minor issue IMHO).

Admins can we lock this thread ? The OP's question was answered already and all we appear to be doing now is drifting further and further off topic.
