freitasm: I've completed pretty much all changes I wanted to in our scripts and database - for now.

Could you guys go around the forums and let me know how it performs now?

I have had 2 occasions today where Firefox stalled while reading:  static.crowdscience.com

Hitting refresh fixed it and the forum page I was trying to view loaded.

Just thought you might like to know...

EDIT:  It has just happened twice more, making 4 occurrences this afternoon.

What is this static.crowdscience.com server, and what does it have to do with Geekzone?

I'm getting massive delays from pubads.g.doubleclick.net - not sure if it's an internode problem or not, as the AAPT connection doesn't suffer the same problem, but instead hangs on a.tribalfusion.com

Blame poor international connectivity on your ISP then.

It's the user survey we run every few months - you probalby saw the toaster notification asking if you wanted to answer some questions. This is gone now.

Also I have removed the Quantcast tags - one less thing.

Having the same problems when loading Geekzone. Installed Fasterfox addon to Firefox V3.6 but have disabled prefetching. Seems to have improved performance slightly on this site and other sites. Even slower when using Google Chrome.

Yes, I noticed that the forum threads are loading a bit faster now.  Cheers Mauricio.

Last week we did some changes, including a small code change in the forum pages, plus database index changes. I have also added some optimization on the webserver side.

How are the pages loading for you guys since yesterday?
