And beyond.

Problems exist with both IE and FX. And on two different comps, charing the same connection. No other sites seem to load slowly, just geekzone and it takes up to 1min to load a page.

Is anyone else seeing this?

A bit slow on Slingshot... although, it's never been fast.

This was intentional and it's now sorted. Loaded a new set of IP addresses in our lookup tables, optimised access to the table from our scripts, etc.

It just finished loading so it should be all good again.

There are two things to it - server slow or your network connection slow? When loading a Geekzone page, check the source and you will see at the bottom how long did it take to create the page. If you see a big difference between that number and your experience, blame on either your browser being slow to render or your network being slow to connect.

In the last few months we have been reducing the size of scripts, implementing more indexes, adding new domains to make it easier for browsers to download content in parallel, removing some javascript content, etc. It should be getting pretty fast...

We block ICMP requests at the ICONZ firewall. So you won't ever get a PING reply or complete traceroute to geekzone.co.nz
