Detruire: There should be a greater contrast between the icon for forums with no new posts and the one for forums with new posts.

I have already pointed this out a couple of pages ago. Phil knows about it.

BarTender: One thing I have noticed is when I edit an existing post, it takes me back to the first page, rather than leaving me on the same page I was on when I edited the post.
Any ideas MF?

Scroll up the page and people already asked for this. Thanks for the vote.

Folks, I've just released an updated forum (thanks RedJungle again)...

- a BIGGER/BIGHTER indicator of forums with new posts
- a line indicating where pinned items end end new non-pinned items start
- more space between the post content and signature
- Related Links by Google now next to the Quick Reply box so you can see other similar discussions
- Related Links by Google now include Related Searches with suggestions for searching the forum for even more discussions on the same topics

How's that?

freitasm: I had to place it there because where it was before cause problems on IE6 and IE7.

and here i was thinking that you had gotten all clever and placed it in the most clicked region on the page in order to help drive up subscriber count :P

(it wasnt a complaint either, just an observation :)

This should be fixed now.

I'm also using Firefox 3.6 and see the same thing when viewing GZ in a window occupying about half the screen width.  But if I maximise the window to 1920 x 1200 then the Google related links move out to the right as I imagine MF intended.

If the window isn't wide enough, the position of those links does look a little odd.  I just repeated the test in IE7 and the same thing happens, so it's not specific to Firefox.

P.S. Nice work on the favicon too Mauricio.  It looks good on my Links bar with no caption needed Smile

Very nice.  Excellent in fact.  Much nicer to read than the old format.

Now you just need to dress up the "New Forum Posts" listing because it is still unchanged from the old format, and looks out of place compared to the revamped forum pages and forum listings.

No pressure, but we can't have you running out of things to do now can we Tongue out

Love the new "new" icon for forums, thanks.

Perhaps the "new" icon for posts can be larger/wider. I can barely read the "new" text.

The pin for sticky posts is not clear either.

(Not intended to be negative, I'm South African and we simply give our opinion when asked for it.)

Nice to see the ads cleaned up (but I block them anyway ;-).

I am in 2 camps about the new look. Yes it looks modern, but I'm an engineer and only after information no matter what it looks like. Have a look at the forums on www.brickboard.com which is very basic but it has everything you need. It is like PriceSpy which used to be very good and now it looks nice but just not the same (a friend of mine is busy creating a vanilla version). But I've got confidence the team here will make sure GeekZone works with the improvements.

It's your personal option, of course. But shall I just go and close the site, since I have to pay from my pocket for people to use it then?

Only some get blocked, the ones that for some reason sometimes take for ever before the page loads and sometimes even causes the page to stop loading (timeout).  Actually I started add blocking due to TradeMe going mad with adverts, not because of GeekZone.
