One thing I find frustrating about GZ is how it resets the "new forum posts" status of threads if I visit GZ and then leave without reading all new posts or clicking the "reset read flags" link.  This is especially annoying when I receive an email about a new post that I am watching, and just quickly duck into GZ to see that post.  When I return next time, the new posts marker is based on the time I came in to read that one post. (I hope this makes sense).  Same thing happens when I visit to read GZ mail only.

So...is it possible to only allow GZ to mark all posts read for a user if and only if they click the "mark all read" link?  I know you can view all posts made today, yesterday etc, but then you lose the little "NEW" icon against the new posts since last visit and have to look more closely at the date and time of each post to sift through the new stuff.

I've already posed this question to Mauricio, but would like to see if other GZ users would appreciate this feature too.  Is there justification in making such a change?

Quick explanation on this issue: the "NEW" flag is based on your previous login time and the last update timestamp on each forum. We don't currently track what you read on Geekzone so can't have individual flags raised.

It's something we can do but it is lower priority compared to the new forum notification system for example.

Now put your suggestions here...
