After many years of abusing a laptop for nothing more then internets and photo storage I've recently gone back to the desktop fold when an old xp machine fell into my lap, this has sparked a keen desire to build a media centre capable of running some HD content for my projector. A shiney new i5 core would make a great start to this dream box.
Cheers team.

Well, my wife struggles along with an Athlon 2500 in a Shuttle SN41G2 I put together for her years ago.  Now she does photo editing, rips CDs and wants to watch Freeview on her PC.  An upgrade is long overdue.

The core i5-750 is the processor which could help make her dreams come true.  I would once again be her favourite resident nerd.

I'd like to use this processor in my current media center setup as the only thing it lacks is a decent CPU.  It's where I run my DVB-T and DVB-S signals, it's my hub for all my pictures, videos, movies, etc. It's sitting in a sweet thermaltake case with a remote etc.

I'd love to have one of these babies just to see the expression on my fellow geeks faces. They're always buying the latest kit for their home pcs and I'm happy with the cheap trademe preloved technology several generations back. But you'd save money if you just spend $3-400 now instead of $40 here, $50 there.... It's more fun!

If i won this amazing piece of technology i qould finally be able to get some relief on my shocking frame rates :) . I am currently running on an Intel Core 2 Duo (E6400 2.1ghz). Having this CPU would make my life that bit more faster and make my next build something to be proud of.

I like to make music with my PC but my old processor has trouble with all those filters, synths and samplers. Upgrading to a new processor like the i5 would make a huge difference to the amount of noise I could annoy my wife with :)

I have been thinking of upgrading my crusty old dell desktop for sometime. A system based on the intel i5 would be a ideal upgrade. Would mean that I my photo and video editing tasks will be a bit faster.....

I build my first computer recently, and I have now started looking at a new project which was going to include an i5 in it. It'll definately beat my current Pentium Dual-core.

This CPU is more than 5 years old now and it is time for a lifecycle upgrade.
And guess what it is?
It is an Intel P4 2 GHZ.
As I am a fan of Intel, i would love to some the latest and greatest power of Intel.
It would enable me to play the latest games, enhance my research, learning and development more on Virtualisation.

It would be a great pleasure to have this newest technology in my baby's heart

i'd take this i5 and jam it into my HTPC (along with a new mobo etc too).  the current htpc runs OK using an old AMD chip, but i want to crunch about 40GB of h.264 video footage of my 18 month old girl and turn it into old-computer-friendly mpeg2 format so I can burn to DVD for the grandparents.

I think the process would run over 100 times faster on the core i5 proc!

My regular PC blew up recently, PSU I suspect, but I'm going to use it as an excuse to do a new PC rebuild with mostly new components and some salvaged components from my old system. That's where the nice new shiny Intel Core i5 CPU would come in handy!

WOW ! Intel Core i5 processor ! This is what i've been waiting for. I do lot of home videos for my family and also to many of my friends. Editing these videos is a pain on my current system. This cool new processor will help greatly here. Not only that am software programmer and work mainly on .net technologies which take quite a bit processing power ! This new intel system will rock my projects with its speed.
