I have been saving for couple months now for a new PC, this would go nicely with all the parts I currently have in mind, plus will give me some extra $ for a big as monitor :-)

Currently, the HTPC is frozen in working state due to being used daily.

Given a new intel CPU, that would be just the ticket to build a second HTPC to try out that new mediaportal release...

HTPC: Antec Fusion 430, Intel i3, Gigabyte 1050, Corsair 4x1Gb,   Hauppauge WinTv, Logitech z-5500, Logitech Harmony 525, Yamaha Rx-v6a, Samsung KS8000 4k, Windows 10, Mediaportal 1.30, BLU-RAY: Panasonic UB820

I have many different projects underway but I would use the processor as my main pc core.  My main pc does everything from photo shop, accounting, Gaming and is a HTC as well so needs a bit more juice!

It would be great to have a more interactive RAW editing capability rather than the click and wait ... for ... it ... experience I undergo currently on an nForce2 system.

Thanks for the opportunity!
I do not have HTPC and do not know what to do with it ....so I will give it away here to someone who can..help me with my samsung beam(which is yet to come!...if and when it becomes available!!!) to set up my medical softwear so i can still take calls and make booking or send scripts while sitting and enjoying a nice lunch on a sunny day outside with someone special!. life is what you make of it....and I want to enjoy life and not just work..work..work from the office...should be able to be mobile.... yet...'save lives!!!"..that way patients get to talk to me personally and not press 1..2..3..or more for various options and finally hanging up.
On the other hand!...ther is always a but......! I will be willing to try this beast and set up a HTPC...good project as like I say ..I fix ppl or try to not computers..but trying'..cheers. My girls are alway moaning about the 10 yr old laptop...which flickers etc.....annoying when they try their farmville or facebook..end up giving mine...
cheers!Tongue out

With a bigger brain I could start to realise the full potential of my current HTPC which lives in an IBM xSeries x236 case with Hot Plug 146g 15k drives running Windows 7 Premium serving up my XBox Media Centre.

My old server is started to conk out if a few people are grabbing files off it, a new flash i5 would allow me to stop that happening, and able to run some more services including VMs off of it!

I would use it upgrade my current Gaming Machine to trail down the parts in order of Mass Destruction!

(But in reality it would be a dedicated Ubuntu grunt/server machine providing me my files on secret missions so I will never again have to go on a stake out without my catalogue of music/video, actual work files(yeah right). And have something other than a virtual machine to run my website on showing off all my cool secret mission details, secretly of course.

My wife is constantly on MY computer looking at Trademe & Living Channel shows. It would be great to have another computer so I have Geekzone all I want. I am only on now because she is on the Living Channel on SKY.

sounds like an awesome competition.
i would like to win one to replace my 955 black edition to finally settle the ongoing battle between phenom's and intel. then once peace of mind is achieved id donate it to a good cause (someone on GZ who needs it more)

I'm fixing to make a Media Management System, I'd use the i5 as the main CPU for the system, with a 100 disc management unit allowing us to select from almost any disc (DVD/CD/BluRay) to watch on the Media system on the 55" LED Series 8 TV by Samsung.

It's just - time.

I've been an avid gamer since a kid and have usually managed to keep a 2 year cycle on my PC's.

However, as I'm sure we all know - time catches up on us, we have kids - and priorities change.

Well - it's been 5 years since I've built a gaming machine from scratch - and the time feel's right. With Diablo 3 just around the corner - plus a bunch of other great titles already available.. there's no better time for me to take advantage of a competition like this.

So - in a nutshell, I'd take the Core I5 - and build a dream machine to game on.

Oh - if you want to throw in a motherboard & RAM - it'd make things heaps easier. :P

My Socket775 mainboard is giving up the ghost. This would be the BEST excuse to get buying a new one past the Financial Controller. Plus, me having anything Core I would be the most current CPU I have ever run.
